The Challenge of Remote Reality 2:Remotely Participating Intensive Workshop at Polytechnic University of Milan

The Degree Programs in Design is holding international exchange design project in 2021 as well.
Following the project in 2020, this time there are 2 teams, 7 students remotely participated intensive workshop at the design department of Polytechnic University of Milan.
Although this workshop is an intensive project that lasted only 1 week, which is much shorter than last year’s project, the students at University of Tsukuba were able to do quick modeling with hands-on practice. They also sent the digital data to Italy, which was exported and assembled into real-sized mock-ups in the classroom at Polytechnic University of Milan. They also did online presentation along with the students in Italy, and received feedback from the sponsor and professors in Italy.
If we take advantage of digital technology, and collaborate with communication, we could share the real-sized design models with peers on the other side of the earth and receive feedback without using 3D printer. This is a great practice of remote reality.

Ideation and group discussion by the 2 teams from University of Tsukuba

This time, the 7 participants from University of Tsukuba were split into 2 teams, working on the project within the team instead of teaming up with students from Italy.Adding up the other 12 teams from Polytechnic University of Milan, there were 14 teams in total.
