The course in Design is one where students study the practical creation of useful design and master diverse knowledge, techniques, and methodology through various objects related to human life, environment, and communication. The course in Design consists of four fields: information, product, environment, and architecture. Each field aims to train students to have a wide range of vision, education, culture, flexible thinking, and sensibility, and experienced enough to realize a high quality life in which human beings, nature and man-made objects harmonize.
Academic Program
In the first two years, all students are expected to take not only the basic design/ art courses but also a wide range of interdisciplinary courses, finding connections among each subject. In the third year, each student is encouraged to take more specialized courses based on his/her skill and interest. Advisers give students guidance about taking courses and setting a theme for the graduation project. To increase real-life experience, the University offers students internships and off campus practice in professional fields. The fourth year is devoted to a graduation project consisting of a thesis and production.
