My work focuses on the shifting interconnections of the body, time, and space. I utilise endurance to reconsider the limits of the body primarily through performance as well as installation, sculpture, painting, photography, video, and text. In my work, I interrogate the limits of performance by challenging the limits of my body’s capacity to endure physically and psychologically. Further, I challenge the focus of my audiences through the use of excessive duration and repetition in my performances. These performances adapt and shift in their making, and the tension inherent in structures meant to fail of which I understand to be a metaphor for the body itself. I believe that performance can shift perspectives through examination of phases, distance, points, mirroring, and by calling attention to the way in which the body, on an elemental level, is comprised of the matter of the constantly expanding universe.
