Professor Yoshitaka Nakamura, who is part of the Carving and Modeling faculty, has been working on a study for three years on Italian lost-wax casting entitled “Research on new representations of lost-wax bronze sculptures through Japanese-Italian interaction.”As this year marks Professor Nakamura’s final year of work on this study, the “Lost-wax Bronze Sculpture Exhibition”will be held at the University of Tsukuba to showcase his research achievements.
This exhibition will be held across three venues, each with a different theme and selected artists whose works will be displayed.
Moreover, a lecture presentation on lost-wax bronze casting has been scheduled as a related event on Sunday, November 18. We plan to have Professor Shuji Tanaka (Oita University) and Professor Kazuko Todate (Tama Art University) join us as speakers at the event.
