Theory

The appreciation support tools on this website are designed for children to acquire appreciation skills and understand artworks smoothly.
In developing the tools, we considered the “repertoire theory” which complements the traditional linear concepts of development from the perspective of emphasizing diversification of society and children’s individuality. It is essential for art eduvators to flexibly adapt the art appreciation tools while considering children’s personalities. We have developed the art appreciation support tools based on the viewpoint of learning theories such as “proficiency” and “metacognition.”
This page introduces theories and studies of art appreciation learning which we referred when developing the tools.
