作品解説　Statement

私は身の周りにあふれている日用品に人体彫刻の像を重ね合わせ、彫刻により人間らしさを持たせたいと思っている。彫刻家高村光太郎の傑作《乙女の像》は、同じ裸婦像が向かい合わせで立っている作品である。カーテンに印刷されたのは、《乙女の像》の片側のみであるが、カーテン自体は2枚存在し、これもまた同じ裸婦像が向かい合っていると言える。カーテン上の乙女は向かい合っていない。重力と素材が二人の姿の見え方を変えていくだろう。

I would like to superimpose the image of human body sculpture on the daily necessities that surround us, and make the sculpture more human. Japanese sculptor Kotaro Takamura’s masterpiece “Statue of a Maiden” is a work in which the same nude female statues stand facing each other. Only one side of the Maiden statue is printed on the curtain, but there are two curtains themselves, and it can be said that the same female nude is also facing each other. The maidens on the curtain are not facing each other. Gravity and materials will change the way they look.
