見えない都市の系譜学
｢決して現実化されず､どのような言説､どのようなテクストの中にも現存せず
‥‥‥欠如のうちで絶えまなく次々と受けつがれ､消滅しては継承されていき､
歴史家にとっては一個の宙吊り状態にとどまり続けるもの。歴史家は､このよう
な宙吊り状態において､それらを繰り返しとらえ直していかねばならないのだ｣

これは都市ではない。都市と呼ぶにはあまりに無垢で直截的な､実在しない｢プロジェクトとしての都市｣である。
建築や都市計画の分野でしばしば使われる｢プロジェクト｣という言葉には、未だ実現していない｢計画｣、あるいは実現し得なかった｢計画｣といった意味が込められている。プロジェクトという言葉が併せもつ｢投影｣、「突出」といった意味をも込めるなら､建築や都市の｢プロジェクト｣は､建築家の都市への夢と思惑の投影であり、突出である｡そうしたヴィジョンは､都市計画のプロジェクトとして反映されるだけではない。むしろ単体の建築プロジェクトに､あるいは1枚のドローイングに､都市への願望が象徴的に投影される場合がある（イタリア未来派のサンテリアやロシア構成主義のタトジンの建築プロジェクトを想い起こすだけで十分であろう)。
実在しない｢未完の都市｣という壮大な実験場の集合の中で、それぞれの時代の都市の現実は逆照射され､都市への「願望」が結晶化する。展覧会のタイトルにある｢未未都市｣と

Genealogy of the Invisible City
This is not a ‘city’ It would be too pure and direct to call it that. Instead we might refer to it as an assemblage : “the city as project”.
The term ‘Project’ as frequently used by architects or urbanists carries a sense of incompletion or, perhaps， a hint of the utopian， hence of what is unbuildable. If the connotation of something literally projected， or extended, is taken into account，architectural or city-planning projects may involve the notion of architects’ dreams or their aspirations toward a visionary city. Such ambitions need not be destined to produce an entire city， they can be restricted to the design for a building or even a single sheet of drawings. In this vein, let us recall the Futurist visions of the Italian architect Sant’Elia at the beginning of our century, or those of his contemporary the Russian Constructivist Tatlin.
In the flux of experimental ensembles of sites labeled ‘Future City’ that may never have existed，the reality of the city of each historical era is revealed， as if strongly backlit，and the aspirations of each generation toward the city become apparent.
The title of our exhibition，The Future City, implies the polar opposite of the real metropolis. These Projects，when arrayed upon a chronological scale，will suggest
