筑波大学芸術系が管理する800点の作品資料「筑波大学アート・コレクション」（UTAC=University of Tsukuba Art Collection）のうちおよそ600点は、現役・退職教員による寄贈作品や卒業・修了制作からの買上作品で構成されています。学士課程および大学院博士前期課程でのアートやデザインの学修は、卒業・修了制作に結実します。そのなかでとくに優れた成果は「芸術賞」と「茗渓会賞」を授与され、UTACに加えられるべく買いあげられてきました。「芸術賞」は1997年度に、「茗渓会賞」は2006年度に始まった授賞制度であり、現在も継続しています。

The University of Tsukuba Art Collection (UTAC), a collection of 800 artworks managed by the Institute of Art and Design, includes approximately 600 works donated by current and retired faculty members and purchased from the degree shows. Studying art and design in the undergraduate and master’s programs culminates in graduation/completion projects. In particular outstanding results are awarded the “Grand Prize”(from 1997) and the “Alumni Association Prize”(from2006) and acquired as UTAC.
