Evaluation criteria for thesis for a master’s degree

Evaluation is conducted on a thesis or the research results of a specified subject. The object of evaluation is limited to any of the following three types, < a >, < b >, or < c >, based on the criteria described below:

< a > Thesis
  1. The significance and purpose of the research should be clearly described, and the method should be accurate;
  2. The conclusions should be contributable to the progress of the division; and,
  3. The drift of an argument should be clear based on previous research.
< b > Artwork and Thesis
(Artwork)
  1. The theme, intention of the work, and the method should be clear and unique; and,
  2. It should reach a high degree of excellence, while being contributable to the progress of the division.
(Thesis)
  1. The significance and purpose of the research should be clearly indicated and the method should be accurate;
  2. The conclusions should be contributable to the progress of the division; and,
  3. The drift of an argument should be clear based on previous research.
< c > Artwork and Research Report
(Artwork)
  1. The theme, intention of the work, and the method should be clear and unique; and,
  2. It should reach a high degree of excellence, while being contributable to the progress of the division.
(Research Report)
  1. The contents of the research should have a correlation with the artwork;
  2. The significance and purpose of the research should be clearly indicated and the method should be accurate; and,
  3. The arguments and conclusions should be sufficiently reasonable.

The thesis committee, composed of one chief referee and no fewer than two vice referees, is created to conduct an oral examination for the research and its related fields, in order to examine whether the thesis meets the criteria described above.
