[Currently on display] 50th Anniversary of the Arts Project "Pulse Flow x Heartbeat - Western and Japanese Painting Faculty Exhibition" until Thursday, November 20, 2025

The Tsukuba University Art Department's 50th anniversary project, "Velocity x Heartbeat - Exhibition of Western and Japanese Painting Faculty Works," is currently being held at the University of Tsukuba.
The exhibition features 20 paintings by faculty members (7 current faculty members and 13 former faculty members) in the fields of Western and Japanese painting.

On Wednesday, October 29th, we held a gallery talk and talk session with Professor Emeritus Shinichi Tamagawa (Western painting), Professor Emeritus Shiro Fujita (Japanese painting), and Professor Emeritus Kei Ota (Japanese painting).
He spoke to students of Western and Japanese painting about the history of the Western and Japanese painting departments at Tsukuba University, his own work, and what it means to paint.

The exhibition will run until Thursday, November 20th. Please come and see it.

[Award Winners] "78th Niki Exhibition" October 15th (Wed) - October 27th (Mon), 2025

Assistant Professor Mika Hoshi won the Member's Award at the 78th Niki Exhibition, currently being held at the National Art Center, Tokyo, and second-year master's student Risa Takeno and first-year master's student Kana Taishi were also selected.
The Niki Exhibition also features works by Professor Terumi Butsuyama, Assistant Professor Misa Yuzawa, and many Western painting graduates.

[Selected report] “92nd Independent Exhibition” October 15th (Wednesday) to October 27th (Monday), 2025

Yuri Iwashita and Yusaku Komatsubara, second-year master's students, and Sachiko Muraoka, first-year master's student, have been selected for the 92nd Independent Exhibition, currently being held at the National Art Center, Tokyo.
Associate Professor Masashiro Fukumitsu and many of our Western painting graduates are also exhibiting at the Independent Exhibition.

Narumi Kusama, a Western painting graduate, won an honorable mention at the 27th Setsuryosha Firenze Award Exhibition. In addition, Shizuki Masumoto and Shota Noda, second-year master's students, were also selected.
The exhibition of award-winning and selected works will be held on the following dates and at the following venues. The Niigata venue is currently open.
