Doctoral Program Overview

The educational objective of the doctoral program is to cultivate painters, instructors, and researchers who have the attitude and qualities to academically examine the practice and theory of pictorial expression, and to produce outstanding human resources who will contribute to the development of culture, art, and education in Japan.

DC exhibition

DC stands for Doctoral Course. This is an exhibition of students enrolled in the Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences, University of Tsukuba, in the Doctoral Program in Art Studies (Doctoral Program), who are engaged in research and production in the fields of Western painting, printmaking, Japanese painting, sculpture, calligraphy, comprehensive design, and art support. It is usually held in mid-November at the Tsukuba Art Museum in Ibaraki Prefecture.
