Of the 800 artworks managed by the University of Tsukuba's Faculty of Art, the University of Tsukuba Art Collection (UTAC), approximately 600 are made up of works donated by current and retired faculty members, or purchased from graduation and completion projects. Art and design studies in the bachelor's and master's programs culminate in graduation and completion projects. Among these, particularly outstanding results have been awarded the Art Award and the Meikeikai Award, and have been purchased to be added to UTAC. The Art Award was awarded in 1997, and the Meikeikai Award in 2006, and both award systems are still in place today.

In particular outstanding results are awarded the “Grand Prize”(from 1997) and the “Alumni Association Prize”(from2006) and acquired as UTAC.
