T+review
Spring is a season full of color. The cherry blossoms are in full bloom and many trees are sprouting new leaves. It is a joyous time after a harsh winter. However, the monochrome depiction of spring in this work gives a sense of melancholy. The gentle white light reflected in the photograph has a warmth to it, but the sadness that seems to stand out from it is emphasized.
"How can we be so sure that the world we see is everything?" (From the concept of this work)
For example, even if someone in front of you is smiling, you cannot truly know whether they are happy or mocking you. Therefore, the human heart cannot be understood by simply following the phenomena that appear on the surface. This work seems to directly express this by removing the saturation of the subject of spring. The intention of this expression also seems to be strengthened by the careful consideration given to the positioning and composition of the subjects reflected in the photograph.
