T+review

The wire mesh suspended in the gallery is woven with countless threads, resembling capillary blood vessels. Although the material is inorganic, it exudes a very organic atmosphere. As the caption suggests, the wire mesh represents "a kind of invisible boundary that cannot be crossed." The artist also points out that sometimes "he is the one weaving the web."
I have personally pondered how this wire mesh functions as a boundary. It is by no means structurally designed to completely separate the gallery, preventing one from viewing the work from behind. One can reach the other side by passing under the suspended work. However, I felt some resistance to actually passing under the work. I'm sure the artist would not mind being passed through, but it is not designed to be easy to pass through. I believe it is this delicate balance that creates resistance for viewers to go beyond the work, in other words, creates a "boundary." (Ichikawa Taiya)
