Let's start our journey around Japan with "Aiueo"!
My name is Hua Lihan and I come from Taiwan.
I'm a visual design student who loves picture books and illustration.
My current level of Japanese and my drawings are still like a child's.
I want to introduce it to everyone!
Thank you in advance :^)
T+review
The first Japanese alphabet that Japanese people are taught and learn is "aiueo." I suddenly realized this when I saw the title of this exhibition.
I felt a sense of nostalgia... The gallery, surrounded by colors and illustrations, caught my eye in a slightly different way than usual. A young man in a blue suit, holding up his pink hat and smiling, was probably the one who greeted me, and so I pushed the door open in a different mood than usual.
Something we are accustomed to using on a daily basis is Japanese.
It was so close, closer than clothes, closer than pencils, closer than anything else, that it was practically invisible, and perhaps that was why I noticed it as I slowly wandered around this slightly different gallery from usual.
The exhibitor stated that "it's childlike," but the words he chose, which are not as overused and tarnished as we are, seemed to sparkle and shine with a definite meaning each and every one of them.
A-I-U-E-O,
It all began with
Aiueo.
In the end, the words we use will probably start with "aiueo" and go back to "aiueo." (Ota Natsuki)
