It melted the furniture.

T+review

It's still May, but the weather reminds me of last summer's heat, and it feels like I'm clinging to my body. Wrong-fitting glasses and melting furniture. It's the perfect combination to make you feel sluggish.
In the blurry scenery, the red clock and the red chair in front of me had melted. Really. Not a dream. Not a delusion.
Events beyond human comprehension that cannot be summed up with the word "chaos" occur one after another, and everything that we have taken for granted as normal every day is destroyed as suddenly as a Jenga tower collapsing. While standing there, stunned, I was so taken aback that I began to think that perhaps the things that were happening right before my eyes afterwards were the real normal. It happened so vividly that I was deluded into thinking that. On the earth we live on, such things sometimes happen, even though we do not wish for them to. The scene today was surely one of those kinds of events.
The TV, potted plants, table, and ashtray on the table, all with colors reminiscent of Mondrian's compositions, were also melting away. What would people think as they gazed upon the melting world? Maybe they should buy something new since it's melted. Maybe they should get something someone doesn't need anymore. But maybe it's not so bad? Even if this is their everyday life. Maybe it's just not possible! Living surrounded by these furnishings every day. Or something like that.
That's how we live, making small choices more or less every day. Our lives unfold and the world may be created by weaving together small choices. So if there is a problem in one part, all the following parts will come to a halt. It may be important to imagine various situations and stories on a regular basis, in case something like that suddenly happens, and to be prepared for such an emergency. She has faithfully recreated one of the most imaginable changes. (Tsuji Mariko)
