This phrase appears in the opening verse of the Zen koan collection "The Blue Cliff Record" by Xuedou Chongxian (980-1052). It is interpreted to mean that the truth is not something far away, but is present right here, all at once.
I wanted to express a kind of intensity, so I used a brush that I don't usually use, but because I wasn't used to it, I had difficulty with the brushstrokes, and it ended up looking like I just wrote it roughly.
