The Adonis flower is closer to its name than its flower.
A haiku by Kaga Chiyo (1703-75). It is reminiscent of "There is happiness low in the earth, and the adonises" (Hosaka Shinaki), and is heartwarming, with the ends of the lines aligned with the ground.
