27×24cm×1999 Framed Autumn 2008, Spring XNUMX
Harvest: thick and thin
The words "Spring" and "Autumn" are written in the style of the Ashide style on a colored paper known as Yuzen washi paper. For the picture of red plum blossoms, I recalled a line from "The Pillow Book" that says, "The blossoms of the tree are red, whether deep or light." I dipped the tip of a brush soaked in silver and dipped it in a little ink, and wrote, which resulted in a faint outline of the ink. The signature seal is also in the style of the Rinpa school.
The illustration of the wild briar is accompanied by the words "Minori Sato," which means "village of beauty" and "fruit," and the designer's seal, resembling a small bird, is perched on the vine.
