Songs of Tsukuba (from the Sekidohon Kokinshu)
18 × 24.8cm
There are shadows on this and that of the spring, but there is no shadow in your shadow (song no. 1095)
The leaves of the mountains of Tsukubane are falling, whether I know it or not, and it's all sorrowful (song no. 1096)
During this self-isolation period, I was reminded of Mount Tsukuba which can be seen from the window of my university classroom, so I copied a scattered style of calligraphy that resembles the two peaks of Mount Tsukuba.
I wrote back poem number 1095, making it so that the eye would be drawn to the foot of the mountain.
I hope that you can get a sense of the majestic Mount Tsukuba.
