Asago Garden Trees: The Lonely One
This work was created in imitation of literati paintings from the Ming and Qing dynasties.
When I feel the autumn wind blowing, I am enveloped in a comfortable sense of loneliness. The loneliness and sadness in this poem come from the fact that I cannot help but feel the signs of autumn more sensitively than other people, but since the COVID-19 outbreak, I feel that I have become more aware of the changing of the seasons and the sense of loneliness.
Reconstruction of Takanokiri Type 3
28 × 53cm
The Takanokirihon Kokinshu, believed to be the oldest surviving copy of the Kokin Wakashu, is classified into three different styles of calligraphy.
This time, I copied the third type of poem from number 1032 to number 1035, and attempted to estimate and restore the following numbers 1036 and 1037. I was once again impressed by the unwavering beauty of the ancient calligraphy, and felt my own shortcomings.
