In this area, we will proceed with highly specialized theoretical research based on the specialized education in art history cultivated at our university or other universities' departments of literature.The goal is to cultivate researchers who have a wide range of knowledge in the field and pursue more advanced inquiries, as well as highly specialized professionals who utilize academic knowledge and research methods.The educational content is centered around Japanese art history and Western art history.

In the field of art history, we have published the research journal ``Gesou'' every year since 1983, which publishes research results mainly from graduate students.The magazine publishes papers on a variety of arts from ancient times to the present day, both in the East and the West, and serves as a place to deepen your research.Especially since 2006, it has restarted as a peer-reviewed journal that publishes peer-reviewed papers, and is expected to further develop as an academic journal.

Possible career paths after graduation include becoming a curator at an art museum or museum, or entering a doctoral program at a graduate school.
