Work description:
For Kotaro Migishi, Sapporo, with its rich nature and exotic scenery, was both his birthplace and a place that never ceased to stir his imagination.Migishi stayed in the city for several months starting in August 1932, actively working on landscape paintings, and this work is considered to be an example of that.A series of mountains can be seen through the gaps in the trees, and in the foreground is a stretch of grassland. The bold and rough brush strokes quickly capture the ever-changing weather, which naturally supports the record that Migishi completed a series of landscape paintings extremely quickly during his stay in Sapporo. At the first exhibition, this work was given the title ``Odori Park,'' but during an investigation in November 8, it was found that on the bottom right of the back of the wooden frame of the canvas was written ``Hokkaido Imperial University Campus, by Kotaro Migishi.'' Posting confirmed. However, the possibility that this writing was written by Migishi himself is not necessarily high, and there is room to examine the possibility that the wooden frame of another work was appropriated.
