Building an outdoor/semi-outdoor space design method as a measure to adapt to the hot environment learned from traditional private houses and villages

Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research Fundamental Research (B) 2021-2025

Research representative: Tsuyoshi Hashimoto (University of Tsukuba)

Research collaborators: Shinichi Watanabe (Daido University), Hitoshi Ishii (Meijo University), Hisataka Kobayashi (Shimane University → Yasuda Women's University) [2023-], Kosuke Kurihara (Tohoku Institute of Technology → Kumamoto Prefectural University) [2023-]

Purpose of research

In this study, we will take into account several existing examples of traditional private houses and villages, taking into account Areas of studyal characteristics such as climate, and discuss the design methods for their outdoor and semi-outdoor spaces. The purpose of this study is to clarify their actual conditions and characteristics from the perspectives of ``processes,'' ``comfort in thermal environments,'' ``safety in ultraviolet ray environments,'' and ``value as Areas of studyal branding elements.''The purpose of this research is to develop an outdoor/semi-outdoor space design method as a heat environment adaptation measure that will contribute to the creation of a sustainable society, a recycling-oriented society, and a post-coronavirus society.
