Itakura Forum

I participated in the 8th Itakura Forum.

Because the Japanese Society of Biometeorology had a board meeting (online) at the same time on the same day, I was able to attend midway through the meeting.

The lecture by Professor Kuniyoshi Shimizu of Kyushu University about the effects of cedar scent was very interesting.

It was interesting to hear about the future development of Itakura's after-school child care facility in Aichi Prefecture.

Hojo’s new exchange hub

I went to see Professor Ando at the Satoyama Architectural Research Institute for a research meeting.

After that, we went to see "iriai tempo" in Hojo.

This is a hangout, local product sales, and working space in a renovated old folk house that was built about 100 years ago.

The dirt floor on the left is a hangout area and a product sales space. The tatami room on the right is a working space.
There are also works by bamboo craftsman Chinami Hashimoto.Chinami Hashimoto is a graduate of the Sculpture Course, College of Art, University of Tsukuba.

Tsukumi Survey May 2021

I went to Tsukumi City, Oita Prefecture to investigate mandarin orange huts.

I had planned this before the rainy season started, but unfortunately, the rainy season had already started.

I feel like the rainy season has started too early...

We continued our research in the rain and in the hot and humid weather after the rain, and managed to reach our quota.

My calf muscles are a little sore.

Amenimo Makezu.
It is built on a stone wall like a castle.cool.
It was just the season for mandarin orange blossoms.White cabbage butterflies were flying in the sky.
