Aizuwakamatsu survey July 2019

I went to Aizuwakamatsu to do some research.

We would like to thank everyone at Mizutori Net Aizu Okawa for their help in this survey.

We received materials about the waterway and were guided to the water source of the waterway.

It is said that the network of waterways flowing through the village has a history dating back to before the Edo period. It's amazing.

This is the "Makoshi Headwork" which is the intake of Kitaaizu Town's waterway.
Can you see that there is a step on the weir? The front is renovated, the back is before renovation. It is said that it will be removed by the power of water. The power of water is amazing.
The Utsuro Weir Monument explains the history of the waterway. The character ``Utsuro'' is said to be a creation, so it cannot be found even when converted.

Summer 2019 First Half Digest

This is a digest report on the main events since the last summer survey of Tsushima.

This summer's schedule is tighter than usual, and we're also affected by the typhoon, so it's tough.

First, after Tsushima, I went to Iide Town, Yamagata Prefecture for a small climate observation survey.

This is a survey on mansion forests (palm trees), scattered residences, and kazarai.

Although in the summer there is no Kazarai.

It is said that a kazarai is set up around here during the winter.

Then, there was a Thursday seminar on August 8st.

Mr. Mizuhata's presentation.

Next, there was a university information session (open campus) on August 8rd.

Many high school students and their families came to the College of Arts at the University of Tsukuba this year as well.

There are also elementary school students inside.

I feel that inquiries about graduate school entrance exams from international students are increasing.

From the next week, I will go to Tsukumi City, Oita Prefecture.

In a joint investigation with Meijo University and Ishii Laboratory, we conducted an on-site investigation of a mandarin orange hut.

Every time I go to Tsukumi, my relationships with the local people, including the mandarin orange farmers, are expanding.

A barbecue party was held in the backyard of Kamo's house. We had a fun night in between research.Thank you for the meal.
