Itakura Forum

Last weekend, I participated in the XNUMXth Itakura Forum (Japan Itakura Architectural Association).

Hashimoto's presentation title was ``Summer thermal environment measurement survey at Itakura Experimental Building.''

This is a report on the second demonstration experiment regarding insulation of Itakura.

We received many questions and comments, which showed the strong interest of everyone involved in Itakura Construction Method.

The forum was rich in content, including reports on the relocation and reuse of temporary housing using the Itakura construction method, efforts to obtain quasi-fireproof construction certification, and case studies of Itakura construction method activities in various locations.

Venue: Tokyo Haraki Kaikan.
Professor Ando (Representative Director of Japan Itakura Architectural Association and Professor Emeritus of the University of Tsukuba) giving the opening address.
Professor Hatake (Assistant Professor, Okayama Prefectural University) reports on the relocation of Itakura construction temporary housing.Professor Hatake is a graduate of the Ando laboratory.

Tree Seminar Examination Committee

There was a screening session for the ``Thursday Seminar'' today.

The progress since last time is...

Mr. Urakawa gave a presentation on the contents of the field survey.

Mr. Mizuhata gave a presentation on the history of mandarin orange cultivation in Tsukumi.

There were times when I couldn't answer the questions well, but that was also a learning experience.

I hope that the teachers' advice and questions will be useful in the future.

Iide Town Survey June 2019

I went to investigate Iide Town in Yamagata Prefecture.

This survey is part of a joint research project with the Kuroda and Ito laboratories of the University of Tsukuba's World Heritage Department, the Hama laboratory of Yamagata University, and the Sato laboratory of Meijo University, with a total of 10 people traveling around Iide Town. I did.

I realized once again that thatched roof houses are nice.

A look at the investigation. The temperature wasn't too high that day, so I was using the wood stove.
The thatch is drying in preparation for the next re-roofing.
Partially rethatched roof.Rather than reroofing everything at once, this style involves diligent maintenance and repair every year.
You can clearly see that the roof is being reroofed one after another.

Aizuwakamatsu survey 2019 early summer

I went to Kitaaizu Town in Aizuwakamatsu City to investigate.

This time, we will investigate the waterway network.

Kitaaizu Town is a complex alluvial fan sandwiched between the Aga River and the Miya River, and was once an area frequently prone to floods.

It is said that the canals were not only responsible for daily water use, but also for waterproofing and drainage during flood disasters.

Miyagawa River flows on the west side of Kitaaizu Town.It is said that when the west wind blows, the Miyagawa River floods.
