Art collections managed by art institutions are on permanent display at Joyo Bank and Taigei Library
Our university has over 600 art collections managed by our art department. Some of the works are displayed at various locations on campus, including the University of Tsukuba Gallery in the University Hall. One of the core of the collection is the ``Ishii Collection,'' which consists of over 2005 items donated to our university from 2010 to 200 by Akira Ishii, Chairman and Representative Director of Library Distribution Center Co., Ltd.
Thanks to the generosity of Joyo Bank, one piece of Chinese ceramics from the Ishii collection will be permanently displayed on the second floor of the bank's Kenkyu Gakuen Toshi branch in the city center, and will be held in commemoration on September 1nd. A ceremony was held.

The art department operates and develops an "Art Street" that connects multiple exhibition spots on campus, and the exhibition at Joyo Bank's Kenkyu Gakuen Toshi Branch is an extension of that street, a so-called satellite street. Together with "Studio'S with T", which is an art site and is located next to the Sekisho Shoji Tsukuba Building, where active activities are already taking place, this project will be used to increase the presence of the University of Tsukuba and us, the University of Tsukuba Art Department, both inside and outside the university. It has the potential to become an important base.
At the same time as the exhibition begins at Joyo Bank Kenkyu Gakuen Toshi branch, works from the Ishii collection will also be on permanent display at Taigei Library.Being able to provide opportunities to appreciate works of art at this library, which is unique among national university libraries as a library specializing in art and physical education, is important for arts education and research activities. We plan to change the works on display at the bank and the library approximately every six months. Please fully enjoy the aesthetic and intellectual appeal of the works of art owned by our university and managed and utilized by the art department.
