The University of Tsukuba College of Art is responsible for both education and research, and is responsible for the development and development of the field from a university-wide perspective, based on the provisions of Article 47 of the "Regulations on the Fundamentals of Organization and Management of the National University Corporation University of Tsukuba." It was established on October 23, 10 as a faculty organization that comprehensively and systematically promotes collaboration and cooperation with other fields.
The art department refers to the art that existed during the period when faculty members belonged to the predecessor Department of Arts, Faculty of Education, Tokyo University of Education, the Faculty of Arts, University of Tsukuba, which was established in 50, and the Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences after its incorporation in 16. While taking into account the history formed by the academic system, we respect research activities based on the academic knowledge and creative individuality of our members, and aim to further revitalize interdisciplinary and co-creative education and research activities.
In addition, as an art faculty organization of the University of Tsukuba, we strive to achieve the goals of education, research, social contribution, etc. listed below and to create an environment conducive to them, and by constantly verifying the implementation status as an organization. Our goal is to contribute to the promotion of art and culture in our country.
Education
- In collaboration with affiliated educational organizations such as School of Arts and Graduate Schools, we aim to foster students full of rich humanity and creative vitality in specialized fields such as art studies, fine arts, composition, design, world heritage studies, and sensual science. We will strive to improve the education system to send out independent human resources who can play an active role globally into society.
- Develop an educational environment that guarantees the quality of the University of Tsukuba's undergraduate program standards, liberal arts education standards, graduate school standards, and degrees.
Research
- In addition to revitalizing research in a variety of specialized fields, from theory to work production and practice, such as art studies, fine arts, composition, design, world heritage studies, and sensibility science, we have established an organization of art faculty located at a comprehensive university. We actively support the development of interdisciplinary and fusion research that goes beyond the boundaries of academic fields by taking advantage of our unique characteristics.
- In addition to creating an environment conducive to individual and group research in the arts, we will also provide support in line with the research stage from seeds to research centers.
- The Research Ethics Committee and Conflict of Interest Committee will support the appropriate conduct of research activities by art faculty.
Social contributions
- In order to turn the results of art-related research into open cultural resources, we will expand the functions of the on-campus facility to resemble a university art museum, and serve as a base for artistic and cultural activities within the university and in the local community.
- Collaborate with a variety of organizations both inside and outside the university to effectively utilize the results of arts education and research, and collaborate with arts education organizations to promote international exchange through arts and culture.
Inspection evaluation/information disclosure
- In order to maintain and improve the standards of education and research in the arts, we will constantly evaluate and examine individual teachers and organizational management based on policies for teacher performance evaluation.
- We will disclose information about arts-related education and research activities and the results of evaluation and verification, and fulfill our accountability to society.
