Recommended PCs for new students of the Design Degree Program

If you are a new student in a design degree program and are looking to purchase a computer, we recommend the following models:

MacBook Air 13-inch (M5 or M4 chip) with 16GB or more of memory and 512GB or more of SSD storage
・If you are particularly interested in video editing or 3DCG production, we recommend 1TB or more of SSD storage.
・Student discounts and campaigns may be available when purchasing a Mac. When purchasing, we recommend searching for keywords such as "Mac student discount" and purchasing from the "Student & Faculty Store" on the official Apple website.
・Please note that the student discount program "Apple On Campus," which was a partnership between educational institutions and Apple, will end in 2023.

・Microsoft Office
The University of Tsukuba has a blanket contract with Microsoft, so no purchase is necessary.
Students can use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. for free.

・Adobe Creative Cloud Complete Plan [Student]
We will be providing free licenses to new students in the Design degree program. More information will be provided after enrollment.
