We conduct practical research on the design of architecture, space, and places related to care, social inclusion, and well-being, such as medical and welfare facilities and community hubs. In care settings that have been established along with the construction of medical and welfare systems in modernization, we aim to develop design theories for creating environments based on humanity and dignity that are required as well as functionality and rationality, and medical and welfare architecture as commons in the community. We are also working on research into co-design processes for inclusive practice through collaboration between caregivers, space users, art and design practitioners, and management methods for art and design projects.
