For 30 years in the Heisei era, we have been developing design activities mainly in Italy.500 years have passed since the Renaissance, and the development of science and technology based on Western thought, which seeks human-centered individual solutions and "differences," has now brought about various environmental destruction and damage to the social and natural environments in which we live. This is creating a distortion of the crisis of lack of humanity in AI society. The world is currently shaken by the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus.Today, as we enter the Reiwa era, we are in need of an Asia that values the whole universe, coexistence with nature originating from Japan, cooperation between different fields, and problem-solving skills based on "Japanese" science and technology. The key to this is the power of art and design, which demonstrates sensitivity, emotional creativity, and humanity to propose well-balanced problem-solving and create the future of social life.In the future, it will become extremely important for the world to design and build an inclusive society that accepts all people, including SDGs and ESG towards 2030.In our laboratory, we will create a new form of Japanese creativity where science and technology and art and design progress simultaneously, with the main themes of nature-centered and inclusive society.
