The 20th century was a time of modernization, but it was also a busy time that didn't allow people to stay in one place. This is clear when looking at the architecture and history of the city.Busy people are at the mercy of their busy lives, and what is sometimes most affected is the way ordinary people live in cities and suburbs.A good example is the rapid progress in technological innovation that once led people who lived in urban areas to live in single-family homes in the suburbs in Japan, but now people are returning to urban centers under the slogan of compact cities. Probably. In our laboratory, we use the word housing as a keyword to explore the origins of the global urbanization phenomenon that began in Japan around 1900, and examine the role played by various designs, including architecture. We conduct research based on the belief that it is necessary to confirm the so-called modernization phenomenon of housing design one by one by recording, analyzing, and preserving remarkable phenomena. , I am trying to put it into practice.
