Basic Sculpture Training

This is a specialized foundational subject common to all students in the School of Art and Design. It is taken by first and second year students aiming for the field of sculpture, but it is a subject for students in the School of Art and Design to learn about three-dimensional production as a basic art subject. Some students have commented that it is refreshing to see a subject as a three-dimensional object, unlike two-dimensional drawing.

This course will deepen students' observation and recognition of three-dimensional objects and cultivate their basic three-dimensional modeling skills. Three basic sculpture exercise courses are offered as a basic subject for learning about three-dimensional production, and each course involves making a head statue, wood carving, or plaster modeling.
