Undergraduate Curriculum
The aim of the Sculpture Department is to provide specialized education through theories, exercises, and practice in sculpture, which is a fundamental and important field of art as a three-dimensional form. The content is broadly divided into modeling and sculpture, and a rich education is provided from the basics to the specialists by teachers with expertise in each field.
The modeling training is carried out in stages each year, with the main motif being the human figure, starting with the head and bust, and progressing to the whole body, and the training involves modeling using a variety of techniques, including modeling, plasterwork, and water-based resin modeling.
The sculpture training is divided into two areas, wood carving and stone carving, and each area lasts for two to three years, from basic to specialized training. In addition, there are casting training, terracotta training, and special sculpture training.
As described above, the curriculum in the sculpture field is designed to allow students to acquire a comprehensive range of theory and practical skills.
Above the undergraduate school there is a graduate school where students can receive more advanced training in the master's and doctoral programs.
