Bronze Casting
At the University of Tsukuba's Sculpture Department, bronze casting sculptures are created in the "Casting Exercise" (undergraduate) and "Metal Sculpture Creation" (graduate) classes.
There are several methods of casting, but in the sculpture class, we create bronze sculptures using wax casting with plaster molds.
He creates the bronze sculptures by hand, from creating the clay model, taking a plaster cast, making a wax model, making the mold, casting, and finishing.
Some students will use the experience they gain from the classes to create bronze casting pieces for their graduation and final projects.
