University of Tsukuba Society of Art Studies and Art History

  1. Name The name of this society shall be the Tsukuba University Society for Art Studies and Art History.
  2. The purpose of the association is to promote interaction among members through the presentation of research on art studies and art history, and to contribute to the development and dissemination of art studies and art history.
  3. Members Members of the Society shall be University of Tsukuba staff, including current and retired faculty members involved in the following educational organizations, graduate students, undergraduate students, and graduate students of the undergraduate or graduate schools: University of Tsukuba School of Art and Design (Art Studies major before 2004, Art Studies/Art History course or Art History course in Art Studies major or Art History field from 2004 onwards), Graduate School of Art Studies Doctoral Program in Art Studies, Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences Doctoral Program in Art Studies, Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences Master's Program in Art Studies, or School of Comprehensive Human Sciences Master's Program in Art Studies, and Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences Doctoral Program in Art Studies, or School of Comprehensive Human Sciences Doctoral Program in Art Studies, or School of Comprehensive Human Sciences Doctoral Program in Art Studies.
  4. General Meeting The general meeting is the highest decision-making body of the Society, and is composed of all members and held once a year. However, participation by proxy from members is permitted, and a meeting is considered valid with one-fifth of the members. In addition, research presentation meetings are held from time to time.
  5. The chairman convenes the general meeting and appoints the steering committee, public relations committee, audit committee, and several student secretaries to oversee the committees. The chairman is elected at the general meeting and serves a two-year term. However, reappointment is not prohibited.
  6. The Steering Committee is responsible for the general affairs, accounting, and business planning of the Association. The term of office is two years and reappointment is permitted.
  7. Public Relations Committee: Responsible for editing the newsletter and updating the website, etc. The term of office is two years and reappointment is permitted.
  8. The Audit Committee audits the Association's annual financial statements. The term of office is two years.
  9. Student Executives: Among the members stipulated in Article 3 of the Rules, a few students enrolled in the graduate school and undergraduate programs will be appointed as executives, and they will assist the committee members stipulated in Articles 6 and 7 of the Rules. The term of office will be one year.
  10. Research Presentations Members can present their research at the "Research Presentation Session."
    ② Regarding the special lectures planned by the Steering Committee among the research presentations at the "Research Symposium," the committee will commission lecturers from both within and outside the organization.
    ③For special lecturers, if the regular one-way fare on each railway line exceeds 5,000 yen, a subsidy of 10,000 yen will be provided from the membership fee.
  11. The Society will publish a newsletter called "Society Communications." The contents will include news from members, summaries of papers and research presentations, reports on general meetings, and reports on sponsored and cooperative projects.
  12. Membership Fees Members shall pay membership fees to be determined separately at the general meeting and shall be the priority beneficiaries of the Association's activities.

Separate matters for discussion The fiscal year of the Association shall run from May 5st to April 1th of each year.
②Membership fees are 3,000 yen per year, except for graduate students (2,000 yen) and undergraduate students (1,000 yen).
