We invited Professor Miho Shimohara of Kwansei Gakuin University, who studies early modern Yamato-e and overseas Japanese art collections, to give a lecture titled.
Professor Shimohara studied abroad in England from 2001 to 2002, and researched early modern Yamato-e mainly at the British Museum.At the lecture, he talked about the formation of a collection of Japanese art in the UK based on these results and his book ``Reconsidering Early Modern Yamato-e - From Japanese, British, and American Perspectives'' (Brücke, 2013).
A total of 25 participants attended, including undergraduate students, master's and doctoral students, doctoral students in the humanities and social sciences, and art faculty.Furthermore, after the lecture, a question-and-answer session and lively discussion were held, providing an opportunity for participants to exchange information about their research.
This lecture was held under the Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research/Fund for the Acceleration of International Collaborative Research (Strengthening International Collaborative Research (B)) "Art History of the Third Force 1880-1920 - Research on the Japanese Network in the UK" (Principal Investigator: Iso It was held as part of Toshiharu Tono.
