Supporting Children's Creativity During the COVID-19 Crisis: Sharing "Let's Grow Our Creatures at Home" Video

The first part of the children's crafting video series "Grow! Everyone's Home Crafts - Bug Edition," created by Matsuzaki Akio, a first-year master's student in the Art Support Program, titled "Let's Make a Colorful Caterpillar with Paper Clay!" has been released.

"Grow! Everyone's Home Crafts" was created as part of the University of Tsukuba's School of Art and Design's social contribution activities through art during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the aim of creating a creative space for children spending time at home and supporting their activities.

The content involves creating living creatures through crafts and then, through further crafts, transforming these creatures into their grown-up form. This time, as the "Insect Edition," over the course of three videos, we will watch a caterpillar grow into a chrysalis and cocoon, and then further into a butterfly.

Rather than simply following a model, the content is designed to develop children's creativity and individuality, and they can enjoy it as if they were "crafting together with an older sister in an online art program."
