The Contemporary Art Center in the Art Tower Mito is well-known by its wide varieties of education programs as well as its unique exhibitions on contemporary art. Among them, workshops by artists, special weeks for high school students, collaborative sessions for viewing art with visually impaired people, and one of the earliest set up of volunteer activities in Japan are the main features of the Center. Junko Moriyama, who has developed the education programs of the Center since its opening, talks on the Center's diverse involvements with people.

After the session, there will be time for a chat with Mr. Moriyama.

The Mito Art Tower Contemporary Art Center, which attracts attention for its unique special exhibitions specializing in contemporary art, is also known for its diverse educational programs.
Moriyama, who has been in charge of the center's educational programs since it opened, will talk about the various initiatives it has undertaken and its interactions with people, including artist workshops, High School Student Week, "Session!" an art appreciation experience for visually impaired people, and some of the first volunteer activities to be organized in Japan.
