Traveling Art Marche

The popular event "Summer Vacation Art Marche" held by the University of Tsukuba's art department every summer vacation,
This spring "Mobile Art Marche" As IIAS Tsukuba will appear in.

We hold art workshops where children can experience the joy of making things and the joy of expressing themselves.
The program will be supported by faculty and students from the University of Tsukuba.
Participation is free, so feel free to join us in between your shopping.

Workshop content and time

Coppa Sculpture / Reborn Art Ball / Art Medal

(Registration on the day, 4 sessions in total)

  • Target:Elementary school students (※Toddlers can participate in the art medal competition)

  • Capacity:About 5 people per session

  • Remarks: Parents are requested to accompany their children inside the venue.

Summer Vacation Art Marché 7: Call for submissions (until July 29th) & Event Report & Exhibition Information

"Summer Vacation Art Marché 2025" was held on Saturday, July 7th and Sunday, July 19th, 20 at the University of Tsukuba's Sports and Arts Area.
Despite the scorching heat, many children and their parents participated.
The "Art Marche at Home", where you can submit drawings you've made at home, will run until July 7th.

On July 19 (Sat) and 20 (Sun), 2025, the Summer Vacation Art Marché 2025 was held at the University of Tsukuba's Physical Education and Art Area.
Despite the summer heat, many children and their families joined, making for a lively and creative two days filled with art.

There are a total of 8 different workshops this year! This year's workshops featured 8 unique programs!

The artworks created during the Summer Vacation Art Marché will be exhibiting at the Tsukuba Museum of Art!

Venue: Tsukuba Museum of Art, Ibaraki Prefecture (Azuma 2-8, Tsukuba City)
Admission Fee: Free
Dates: June 2025th (Tuesday) -July 8st (Sunday), 19
Time: 9: 30-17: 00 (Admission until 16:30)
*Last day until 14:00 / Closed on Monday, August 8th
※ Closes at 14:00 on the final day. Closed on August 25 (Mon).

Judging: The entries will be judged by faculty members of the University of Tsukuba's Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and prizes will be awarded to outstanding works. Winners will be contacted separately.
Judging will be conducted by faculty members of the University of Tsukuba's Art Program. Selected outstanding works will receive awards. Winners will be notified separately.

Implementation program

① Art Day Camp (Still Life Drawing)
Look closely at the motif (fruits, tools, etc.) and try drawing it! It's okay even if it's your first time. Teachers and university students will teach you how to draw. It's also recommended for those who are aiming to go on to higher education!

② Art Day Camp (Figure Drawing)
Let's draw a picture while looking at a human model. Even beginners can feel at ease.

3. Reborn Art Ball
Draw pictures on balls actually used by professional athletes and bring them back to life as works of art!

④ Art Medal
Use clay or plaster to create palm-sized 3D art.

⑤ Coppa Sculpture
Combine pieces of wood as you like to create your own unique sculpture!

⑥ Make a broom
Let's make a genuine Tsukuba style broom by hand. I'm sure you'll enjoy cleaning!

⑦ Take analog photos!
Are you interested in how a camera works? What is a darkroom? Let's take photos of your memories!

⑧ Art Exploration Team
