Art Field in Tsukuba: Articles by students on emerging artists in Tsukuba
This magazine was launched in 2006 with the aim of widely disseminating the results of art writing education at the University of Tsukuba.
In this issue's "Special Contribution" section, we have received an article from Harumi Shimura, a graduate who is currently working in the arts support field and is a staff member at the "Reborn-Art Festival" held in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture. We also have a report from a current student who participated in the festival as an intern.
As part of the specialized course "Creative Art Writing" (Teacher: Toshio Naoe) in the Arts Support Area of the School of Art and Design, "Tsukuba Art Field" features interviews with up-and-coming artists at the University of Tsukuba. The initiative for this class was introduced in the lead article of Issue 15 of this magazine (2021). The last time, it was held without the possibility of face-to-face classes, but this time the students gathered together and had the opportunity to learn from each other directly, such as by reading aloud articles they were writing.
