Special exhibition “Educational collaboration between elementary, junior high, high school, and university through art medals” May 5th to July 27th at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Information Plaza

The special exhibition "Educational collaboration between elementary, junior high, high school and university through art medals" will be held in the special exhibition room on the third floor of the former building of the "Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Information Plaza" as follows. The exhibition will introduce educational activities that have been carried out in collaboration between the University of Tsukuba's elementary, junior high and high school, special needs school and university.
The Tsukuba Art Medal Project (TAMP) was launched in 2019 and has held art medal exhibitions and workshops around the country to date. This project mainly involves students from the University of Tsukuba, as well as art faculty, teachers from the University of Tsukuba affiliated elementary school, junior high school, and high school, and the special needs school for the visually impaired. They have considered what an "art medal" is from the perspective of their school type and specialty, as well as its educational significance and value, and have produced works and implemented educational practices.
In 2021, due to the COVID-XNUMX pandemic, opportunities to exhibit and appreciate artworks have decreased, so in addition to exhibiting artworks, we created online content for appreciating artworks in a virtual space. Then, university students took the lead in conducting online appreciation workshops using that content for high school students.
In this exhibition, we will introduce the results of our efforts through panel displays, mainly of the practices carried out in fiscal 2021. We will also be exhibiting art medals in the booth.
