“Let there be light,” and there was light.・・・・・
“Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water.”・・・・・・
“Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so. God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.”・・・・・
“Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so. The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds.・・・・・
And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” (Genesis 1:3)

THE ARK FROM THE PAST TO TOMORROW

Curved floor / Curved Roof

The project will aim to be a curved roof of the Shelter that derived from an arch with a radius of 120m, which reminds the 120 years of Noah’s Ark story written in the Old Testament. The curved floor is composed by an arch with a radius of 60m taking the half of the radius of 120m. The space between those two curved surfaces will aim to be a space for the cyclone shelter. The lowest floor level is GL+3,200mm and the highest floor level is GL+6,200mm. The interior space is one multifunctional room. Classroom1 and classroom 2 will be located at both ends of the building and the Hall and the office will be located in the middle behind the entrance. Both classrooms will be able to accommodate 100 students. The curved floor would be very fascinating for the children, in order to be an indoor playground. Beneath this curved floor an open space will be afforded for medical clinic purposes for the people of the village.

Flooded Hut
The first floor level starts from 3,200mm to 6,200mm, from the ground level and will guarantee a safety place and a refuge for these people in case of a flooded disaster, caused by a cyclone. This shelter will accommodate 1,400 people in the first floor, and the roof will aim to be a farm roof that will supply a huge space for the refuge of the domestic animals of the village, together with the animal’s owner. The scene, having many animals on the top of the shelter will reminds us a remote memory of the NOAH’S ARK. A new “Noah’shelter” will put out from the ‘flooded’ sea in order to seek tomorrow’s fortune.
